Spring Piano Recital

Saturday evening was our Spring Piano Recital. The kids work for a long time perfecting piano pieces. They each performed beautifully. I recorded the videos of them right before we went to the recital.

"Hunting Horns" by Theodore Oesten

"Waves" by Emma Lou Diemer

"Minuet in F Major" by Mozart

"Oh, Will You Wear Red?" arr. by John Robert Poe

NCC 5 Mile Run

Pre - race ... all smiles!

5 a.m. is what time our morning began . . . and that's
on a Saturday. I realize I probably wont get much
sympathy from anyone that might look at this blog,
but none the less we were all up early and headed up
Dry Fork Canyon for the First Annual 5 mile community run
sponseredby Northeastern Counseling. The kids were incredibly
good sports about the whole thing. Each had a different
plan of how they were going to run the race and each
walked away with a trophy for placing in their division.

Camrie - road her bike while Gabe and I
chased her the entire 5 miles!

Connor came in First for his division (Youth-boys)
Gabe came in Second for his division (Youth-boys)
Madison came in First for her divison (Youth-girls)

Kyle and I finished and didn't need oxygen! Although we are
somewhat sore tonight. I don't want to
think about how I'll feel in the morning.

...still smiling!

This is the park where the race ended.
This is etched in the side of the cliff wall.

Care for One Another . . .

Madi represented a little greek girl in her second grade
program. The message of the program focused on
the fact that we are all part of a great big human
family that will be happier when we treat one another
with respect and love. Madi and I sewed little matching
skirts for the three little dancers. Good job girls!

Second Grade Fish Hatchery

I was a mom helper at Madi's Second Grade Field Trip to
Jone's Hole Fish Hatchery
Other than a really long bus ride it was a very fun day.
The Forest Service personel had organized stations
for us to visit.  We fed fish, learned about bugs and
why they are important to the health of a habitat.
We learned about fly fisherman and all their secrets
to catching big fish and Smokey the Bear even
made an appearance.  It was really fun spending
the day with Madison and her class.

Spring Dance Recital 2010

PEZZETINO

What a fun-filled night!  Miss Heather is very creative.
She designs the recital around a book or a story.
This year the girls learned that it doesn't matter how
small you are . . . you are of great worth and importance.

Happy Birthday / Mother's Day

I love that my Dad's Birthday and Mother's Day fall
closely to one another.  We always gather for a picnic
and play with family.  The weather was nice enough
for a BBQ down to park.

The cute little kitten belonged to cousin Megan.
We are so glad she brougt the entertainment!

3-D Solar System

Connor has been working a 3-D model of the solar
system for the past week.  We finally wrapped it
up over the weekend.  It was pretty interesting...
Did you know that Saturn has something like 60 or
so moons.  Connor's version included an astroid belt,
planets, moons, sun, even a space shuttle.
  It was a fun project!
