Poetry Out Loud 2011

Madi and Camrie both memorized poems for our schools 3rd annuel Poetry Outloud Event.  They both did really well and Madi took first place for her entry and has to recite her poem at the district competition today!  Good Job and Good Luck!

Happy 50th Anniversary

My Mom & Dad celebrated their 50th Anniversary recently.  We reserved the Library room at the Roof Restaraunt and had a really nice visit and dinner and then the next day we brought all the grandkids for a sledding party and dinner.  We gave them a scrapbook filled with letters, and memories and pictures.  Everyone contributed letters and pictures and then I compiled it into one big book. We had a wonderful time and I think they enjoyed themselves.

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2010

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

The month of December is like a blur...I LOVE the season, but each week was filled with so many events and activities. I took so many pictures. Some of the highlights included Band concerts, Christmas parties, Dance previews (I had some great video of Kyle dancing with other dads), Jazz Game in the city, more Christmas parties, record snow fall for Roosevelt, and finally what our van looked like after we were in a crash on our way to Morgan (we were fine-black ice). The verdict is not in on the van yet... Needless to say, I can't find most of the pictures. I would understand if Kyle had deleted the dancing footage, but I don't think he did. I think I must have deleted it somehow and I am so sorry. Pictures are an amazing way to share life experiences and events! I'll be more careful from now on.

This is the second year in a row that I have let the season slip past without a Christmas Card. I'll do better next year. I do want to wish each of you a Merry Christmas and let you know how grateful we are for the associations we have with each of you. We are so blessed to have such kind neighbors, friends and family. We love and appreciate all of you and the part you play in our lives.

Halloween 2010

It's a witch, a pair of skeletons, and of course, Pippi Longstocking
Saturday started out beautiful.  We got lots of yard work done and then hurried home to carve pumpkins and get ready for our Ward's Trunk or Treat.  The party ended just about the time the wind started to howl and rain began to fall.

Madison and her black widow spider

Connor and his werewolf

Camrie and her hoot owl

Gabe and his haunted house

Halloween Cousin Party

Monday night we celebrated Halloween a little early with our annual Snow Cousin Halloween Party!
We always start with soup and breadsticks and end with a trunk or treat.  It was a windy cold evening so we met up at a church gym.

UMTA Fall Evaluation 2010

Happy Birthday Madison!

Happy Birthday Madison!!!

My pretty little red head is nine year old!  My how time flies...

It was the year for a friend party.  So I took them to the Rec Center in Vernal for swimming and out for icecream afterwards.  It was a fun and easy birthday party!  The girls were very good and we all had a blast!

3rd Grade Artist in Residence

One of the fun things that third graders get to participate in, is the Artist in Residence programs.  Through different grants an artist is brought in for a couple of weeks to immerse the children in a different culture.  Madison loved the experience and to complete the week they have a program for parents.  Each class was taught a different dance from a different state in Mexico.  Each class worked so hard to learn about the Mexican culture and perfect their dance.

UEA Weekend

We are still enjoying beautiful fall days and crisp cool night.
I love it! Wendy and Bryan, three of their kids,
and my mom came and saw us
on Wednesday night.  They spend the night and
then we played the next day.  They had to go home
on Thursday, but we packed a lot
into 24 hours.

They brought Pizza for dinner and then the girls went to "Witches Night Out Boo-tique" - at the hospital.  We played games and watched TV.  The kids played night games and had a sleepover/campout on the living room floor.  The next day we had breakfast and played in the yard.  Then we headed to Bluebell to check out the Corn Maize!  It was fun.  No one got too lost and then after a few hours of fun we came back and grilled burgers and relaxed.  It was all over too fast and they were headed back to the city by 5 p.m.  Bummer...I hope they'll come again and stay a little longer next time!

RJHS Cross Country 2010

Connor has been part of a XC team this fall.  In Junior High it is really a club, but they allow the JH team to practice and compete in closer meets with the HS kids.  He has been practicing 3 or 4 times a week and has about 4 or 5 meets.  This was the last one, and unfortunately the only one I made it to.  Kyle has gone to all of them so he wasn't completely on his own.  This meet was in Duchesne and it was his best time yet!

Nice job Connor!!!
